Softball Recap: Bronson's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Bronson made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Chiefland, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Bronson Eagles never let the Chiefland Indians get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory on Tuesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Eagles as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Chiefland's batters probably weren't too happy with Julianne Lampton, who pitched a no hitter and racked up ten Ks (she gave up two walks). Furthermore, Lampton didn't allow a single earned run, the first time she has blanked an opponent over her last nine matchups.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Brystal Howard, who scored four runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in runs. Another player making a difference was Makenna Dean, who scored a run while going 3-for-5.

Bronson's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Chiefland, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.

Looking ahead, Bronson will head out on the road to face off against Hawthorne at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hawthorne has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.5 runs per game on average), something Bronson will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Chiefland, they will host Newberry at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Newberry will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Chiefland surely won't give up without a fight.
