The Marcellus Mustangs put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past General Brown 61-41. The result was nothing new for Marcellus, who have now won four contests by 20 points or more so far this season.
Marcellus found their leader in underclassman Tucker Burnett, who scored 15 points. The match was Burnett's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Will Burnett, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Marcellus' win was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-0. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 25.5 points. As for General Brown, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6.
Marcellus will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Christian Brothers Academy at 8:15 p.m. on Friday. Christian Brothers Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 207th, while Marcellus is ranked ninth). General Brown will finish 2023 at home by hosting Massena at 12:30 p.m. on Friday.
