Weston Ranch was handed a six-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 victory over West. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Cougars have posted since April 2, 2024.
Jordan Paris and Gerardo Ortega did most of the damage at the plate: Paris scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Ortega scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. Meanwhile, Soledad posted their biggest victory since April 29, 2024 on Tuesday. They put the hurt on King City with a sharp 12-1 win. The Aztecs haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
