Colonia extended the longest winning streak in Greater Middlesex - White this week by beating Woodbridge, 28-21. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Bishop Ahr and South Plainfield played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Bishop Ahr eventually emerging with a 14-13 victory.
Colonia's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Treny Barneys threw for 140 and one touchdown and Al Behtea had 82 yards receiving. On the ground Sam Pero chipped in 103 yards. Jake Pero helped Colonia's passing attack out by catching four balls for 33 yards.
Carteret's Tyler Rodriguez and Erik Fruscella have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Rodriguez has thrown for 592 yards this season, while Fruscella, a 5-foot-8 receiver, has 11 catches for 279 yards. Pero from Ben Lasala's team leads the league in rushing with 644 yards.
A big matchup in Greater Middlesex - White this week will be when the Ramblers take on the Barrons. Carteret is in second place, while Woodbridge is in third place.
