Kate Wilson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Aubree Fry was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Londyn Gamble, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Box Elder got themselves on the board against Woods Cross on Tuesday, but Woods Cross never followed suit. They blew past the Wildcats 19-0. The Bees might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by seven runs or more this season.
Lucy Braegger looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Alexis Hales, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jenna Marble, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.
Box Elder kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Bear River pushed their record up to 15-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Box Elder, their win bumped their record up to 13-1.
Both Bear River and Box Elder just can't seem to miss. The Bears have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.1 hits per game. However, it's not like Box Elder struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.4 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Bear River came out on top in a nail-biter against Box Elder in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 6-5. Will the Bears repeat their success, or do the Bees have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
