Leading Cardozo to victory were Nasir Slater and Cameron Young. Slater scored 14 points along with six rebounds, while Young scored 18 points along with four steals. Those six rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Trey Green, who scored seven points along with four steals.
When it comes to explaining why McKinley Tech lost, one person who can't be blamed is Demontae Neclos. Despite the final result, he scored 23 points. Marcus Dunbar was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds.
Cardozo's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0. As for McKinley Tech, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-3.
