Bishop Hartley is 7-2 against Huron since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Hawks will face off against the Tigers at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Bishop Hartley proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by three) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Bishop Watterson 3-2.
Bishop Hartley took Bishop Watterson into a fifth set where they got it done with a nine-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 24-26, 20-25, 25-10, 15-6.
Bishop Hartley can attribute much of their success to Addie Lawler, who had four digs and three aces, and Samantha Heuser, who had seven digs and two aces. That's the most aces Lawler has posted since back in August. Morgan Clark also deserves some recognition as she served her first aces of the season.
They weren't the only good servers: Bishop Hartley was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in nine consecutive matchups.

Huron had won three straight games and Adelyn Van Sickle did her part to make it four on Thursday. The Tigers blew past Vermilion 3-0 thanks in part to Van Sickle, who had 19 digs and two aces. Clark is also on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had five or more in each of the last five games she's played.
The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Huron was: they took every set by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-12, 25-15.
Huron's record is now 16-5. As for Bishop Hartley, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 14-7.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Saturday's match: Bishop Hartley has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 10.1 aces per game. However, it's not like Huron struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.4 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Bishop Hartley skirted past Huron 3-2 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hawks since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
