They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 43-40 victory over Schoolhouse Prep. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Monsignor Pace has posted yet this season.
Monsignor Pace's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jabari Dukes led the charge by dropping a double-double on 11 points and 14 rebounds. Dukes continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Justin Bridges, who scored ten points along with two steals.
The win makes it two in a row for Monsignor Pace and bumps their season record up to 11-8. As for Schoolhouse Prep, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.
Monsignor Pace on the road again on Friday and play against Belen Jesuit at 4:30 p.m. on January 26th. Belen Jesuit presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Monsignor Pace in Florida (Belen Jesuit is ranked 162nd, while Monsignor Pace is ranked 402nd). As for Schoolhouse Prep, they will take on True North Classical Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
