Even though the Wilmington Wildcats have not done well against the Reed-Custer Comets recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Wilmington snuck past the Comets with a 48-44 victory. The victory was familiar territory for Wilmington who now have three in a row.
Wilmington's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kyle Farrell, who scored ten points along with seven steals and six assists. Lucas Rink was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with four steals.
Wilmington has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. As for Reed-Custer, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-15.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wilmington will take on the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Reed-Custer, they will head out on the road to challenge the Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
