After both having extra time off, the Spring Baptist Academy Royals and the Community Christian Lions will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Spring Baptist Academy came up short against Faith Christian last Friday, falling 3-0. The Royals have struggled against the Saints recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-5, 25-8.
Meanwhile, Community Christian hadn't done well against Bob Hope recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Lions came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 3-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.
The final score came out to 25-23, 25-19, 20-25, 25-17.
Community Christian found their leader in sophomore Riley Kleinpeter, who had three digs, three aces, and one block.
Spring Baptist Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Community Christian, their win bumped their record up to 8-10.
Spring Baptist Academy skirted past Community Christian 3-2 when the teams last played back in September of 2024. Will the Royals repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
