Evan Esqueda tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned run off eight hits. He has become a key player for Kerman: the team is 4-2 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 3-9 otherwise.
At the plate, Adrian Torres was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Kerman's success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is undefeated (and 3-11 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Daniel Lanfranco, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Kerman always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .536. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2025.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Central Valley Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They came out on top against Sierra Pacific by a score of 4-1 on Thursday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
The team relied heavily on Brody Pimental, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one double.
Central Valley Christian's record now sits at 11-9. As for Kerman, the win was their first at home, bumping their record up to 7-11.
Kerman couldn't quite finish off Central Valley Christian in their previous matchup back in March and fell 3-1. Can the Lions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
