The Bethany Community Wolves will venture away from home to face off against the Cornerstone Charter Academy Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bethany Community is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.
Bethany Community came into this matchup off a tough 16-run defeat on Wednesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Walkertown by a score of 6-4 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Wolves have suffered since April 25, 2025.

Gavin Washburn was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. What's more, he gave up only two walks, the fewest he's had since back in February. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Bethany Community is 2-1 when Washburn posts two or more runs, but 4-5 otherwise.
Washburn wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jesse Tucker, who went 1-for-3 with one double.
Meanwhile, Cornerstone Charter Academy came tearing into last Wednesday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Grizzlies with a sharp 16-0 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Cardinals considering their one-run performance the contest before.
Like Bethany Community, Cornerstone Charter Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: Jansen Bryan. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Bryan has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Brayden Barbee was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooks Adamczak, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Cornerstone Charter Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 11.2.
Cornerstone Charter Academy's record now sits at 8-3. As for Bethany Community, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-6.
Tuesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Bethany Community has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .463. However, it's not like Cornerstone Charter Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .482. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Bethany Community came out on top in a nail-biter against Cornerstone Charter Academy in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, sneaking past 6-4. Do the Wolves have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cardinals turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
