After a string of three wins, the Idea Timberwolves's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell 60-49 to Sandy Spring Friends. Idea lost against Sandy Spring Friends in their previous head to head back in December of 2018, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 68-22 score last time.
When it comes to explaining why Idea lost, one person who can't be blamed is Nehemiah Johnson. Despite the final result, he scored 13 points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Shamar Shorts, who scored ten points.
Idea's loss dropped their record down to 14-6. As for Sandy Spring Friends, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.
Idea won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Digital Pioneers Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 25th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in District of Columbia (Digital Pioneers Academy is ranked 28th, while Idea is ranked 13th). As for Sandy Spring Friends, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against McLean at 6:00 p.m. McLean is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
