Basketball Recap: West Bladen Comes Up Short

The West Bladen Knights had to suffer through an 87-58 loss at the hands of the Landstown Eagles.

Jackson Pait and Tylik McCall certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Pait posted 17 points, while McCall earned 16 points. McCall's big performance that afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Jamari Adams-Peterson was another key player, putting up nine points.

Landstown found their leader in sophomore Damien Robinson, who shot 47% from the field to rack up 24 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Robinson is crushing it when it comes to points: he's scored at least 24 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Chase Johnson, who put up 15 points and three steals.

West Bladen's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Landstown, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Coming up, West Bladen will venture away from home to face off against East Bladen at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights will be up against the Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 62.5 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Landstown, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Salem at 7:00 p.m.
