The La Canada Spartans will head out on the road to take on the Muir Mustangs at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. La Canada is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.
On Tuesday, La Canada was able to grind out a solid win over San Marino, taking the game 5-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Spartans.
La Canada gave Natalie Stogel the start and clearly made the right call: she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Stogel has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. Mira Weinberg relieved her and did a solid job, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, Riley Labrecque was incredible, firing off two home runs, three RBI, and one stolen base while going 3-for-3. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high.
La Canada kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Muir). Everything went their way against Glendale on Thursday as they made off with an 18-3 victory. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by nine runs or more this season.
Gigi Butler made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. Butler was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI and two doubles.
In other batting news, Jaida Brown was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Raquel Paez, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and four runs.
La Canada's record now sits at 7-5. As for Muir, their record is now 8-3.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. La Canada has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.8 hits per game. However, it's not like Muir struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.1 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
La Canada might still be hurting after the 12-3 defeat they got from Muir in their previous matchup back in March of 2025. Can the Spartans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
