Softball Recap: North Bend Central Wins Going Away Against Highway 91

North Bend Central won the last time they faced Highway 91 and things went their way on Saturday too. The Tigers blew past Highway 91 12-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

Emma Rangeloff made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Madilyn Reese was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since September 2nd. Vanessa Cummings was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.

North Bend Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Highway 91 only posted an OBP of .238.

North Bend Central's record now sits at 11-14. As for Highway 91, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-18.

Coming up, North Bend Central will head out to square off against NEN at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Highway 91, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 8-0 loss against Tekamah-Herman on the 27th.
