Calvary Christian Academy added to the longest winning streak in Citrus this week by beating Julian, 16-10. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
Foothills Christian fell to Classical Academy 54-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Borrego Springs's dynamic duo of Gunner Van Sickle and Michael Manzano proved tough for Lutheran to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Van Sickle threw for 363 yards and 5 touchdowns and Manzano had 245 yards receiving. Jordan Thompson helped Borrego Springs' passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 78 yards.
He was 11-18 with 1 interception.
Manzano had a great week catching the football as the Rams defeated the Knights. He caught 5 passes for 245 yards.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Lutheran's Noah Henkell and Tyler Pinuelas have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-0 quarterback Henkell has thrown for 1,430 yards this season, while Pinuelas has 24 catches for 407 yards. Calvary Christian Academy's Justin Santa maria leads the league in rushing yards with 931.
Santa maria of the Gene Rheam's team is only 69 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 117 carries Santa maria has accumulated 931 yard this year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Borrego Springs takes on Classical Academy. Andy Macuga's team is in fourth place, while Bob Manning's team is in first place.
The Royal Knights and the Eagles played the most contested game in Citrus this week, with the Royal Knights eventually emerging with a 16-10 victory. Santa maria ran for 149 yards during the win.
