Seward won the last time they faced Crete, and things went their way on Friday, too. Everything came up roses for Seward against Crete as the squad secured a 50-7 win. Followers of Seward probably expected little less of the team in a season in which they have collected four blowout victories.
Seward's offense rushed out of the gates and came up with 29 first-half points. Meanwhile, Crete couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 29-0 heading into the break. Seward put the match away in the third quarter with 14 points from the offense and seven points allowed from the defense. The victory bumped their record up to 5-1. The loss dropped Crete back to even at 3-3.
Seward will be staying on the road next week, facing off against Hastings. Keep an eye on the score for this one: those two teams put up some lofty point totals in their previous games, so things might heat up even more when they meet up. As for Crete, they will face off against Beatrice. Both of these teams will be looking for a pick-me-up after considerable defeats in their previous games.
