There's no place like home for the Cedar Reds, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They took down Pine View 60-45 on Thursday. Given Cedar's advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while Pine View is ranked 92nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Reese Gustin, who scored 14 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Casey Morley, who scored 12 points.
Cedar is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. As for Pine View, their loss was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-17.
Cedar will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Dixie at 7:00 p.m. As for Pine View, they will head out on the road to square off against Crimson Cliffs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Crimson Cliffs has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
