The Glendale Falcons will venture away from home to face off against the Nixa Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Glendale sitting on four straight wins and Nixa on eight.
Glendale took a 21-point defeat the last time they faced off against Lebanon, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Falcons won a game that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by the Yellowjackets 43-42. That's two games straight that the Falcons have won by just one point.
It was another big night for Cash Newberry, who threw for 363 yards and two touchdowns while completing 73.9% of his passes, and also rushed for 66 yards and a pair of TDs on only eight carries. What's more, he posted two rushing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in November of 2024. Cameron Major also helped with two scores in total.
Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Nixa over Ozark in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Eagles blew the Tigers out of the water with a 56-7 final score. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-7.
Glendale better keep an eye on Jayden McCaster. He was instrumental in Nixa's win, rushing for 235 yards and three TDs while picking up 13.8 yards per carry. McCaster is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 108 every time he's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Adam McKnight, who threw for 87 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Nixa was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 343 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Nixa didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Wyatt Mabe and Peyton Chainey. Mabe got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Glendale's record is now 5-3. As for Nixa, their record now sits at 8-0.
Glendale took a serious blow against Nixa in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 42-0. Thankfully for the Falcons, Dylan Rebura (who rushed for 224 yards and four scores while picking up 10.2 yards per carry, and also picked up 30 receiving yards) won't be suiting up this time.
