Crestview is 1-9 against Champion since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Rebels will host the Golden Flashes at 5:30 p.m. Crestview is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.
Wednesday just wasn't the day for Crestview's offense. They came up short against Southeast on Wednesday, falling 10-0.
Crestview saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addison Finch, who went 1-for-2 with one double.
Meanwhile, Champion came into Monday's game having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past Garfield 13-1 on Monday. Considering the Golden Flashes have won four contests by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Adalyn McIntosh was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2025.
In other batting news, Champion got a massive performance out of Josie Perhach, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those three runs gave Perhach a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonna Strock, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Champion kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are 3-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Crestview's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Champion, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. Crestview hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Champion struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
