The Leonard Lancers will head out on the road to face off against the King's Academy Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with 12 defeats in a row, Leonard turned things around against Lake Worth Christian on Friday. They blew past the Defenders 7-1. The Lancers not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since February 11th.

Shawn Lopez made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.
In other batting news, Bryan Quiroz-Rivera was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Angel Ortiz-Santana also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Leonard always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, King's Academy waltzed into their contest on Monday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against the Falcons.
Preston Applebaum looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Dalton Needle, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Briggs Harris, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
King's Academy's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.4 runs over those games. As for Leonard, their record is now 3-12.
Leonard might still be hurting after the 12-1 loss they got from King's Academy in their previous meeting back in February of 2020. Can the Lancers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
