For the first time this season, Caddo Mills will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will take on the Krum Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Friday, Caddo Mills earned a 52-45 win over Brownsboro. Given the Foxes' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 307th, while the Bears are ranked 635th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Kollin Heath was his usual excellent self, picking up 87 receiving yards and one score.
Another reason for the win was Caddo Mills' imposing defensive line, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Corbin Kemp, Griffin Carter, and Tripp Welch, who each picked up one sack apiece. Donald Pierson was another major factor on D, making 18 total tackles.
Meanwhile, Krum strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They blew past Ranchview 69-44. Fans of the Bobcats have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.
Krum's win came from a few key players Caddo Mills will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Will Holland, who rushed for 210 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.8 yards per carry. Those 210 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mateo Gonzalez, who rushed for 107 yards and a pair of TDs on only 11 carries.
Krum was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 473 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 183 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
Krum's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Caddo Mills, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
Caddo Mills might still be hurting after the 55-35 loss they got from Krum in their previous meeting back in September of 2024. Will the Foxes have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other football content.
