Sandhills/Thedford put the hurt on Wallace with a sharp 59-39 win on Thursday. That's another feather in the cap for Sandhills/Thedford, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Despite the defeat, Wallace had strong showings from Matt Lungrin, who scored 17 points, and Max Hanson, who scored 14 points along with 5 rebounds. Lungrin scored a full 43.6% of Wallace's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Sandhills/Thedford's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Wallace, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sandhills/Thedford will square off against North Central on Saturday. As for Wallace, they will head out on the road to face off against Hyannis on Saturday. Hyannis is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.
