The Northridge Grizzlies waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins but they left with three. They came out on top against Thompson Valley by a score of 54-42. That's another feather in the cap for Northridge, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Northridge found their leader in underclassman Sophia Carbajal, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 16 rebounds. Carbajal is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. Jillyin Fulton was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Northridge's win bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Thompson Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northridge will square off against Frederick at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Frederick will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. As for Thompson Valley, Thompson Valley and Roosevelt will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. One thing working in Roosevelt's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 14 contests.
