Basketball Recap: Friendship Christian Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Roger Maddox and Bryson Williams

Friendship Christian was the 62-59 winner over White Creek Christian Academy when they last played one another on Tuesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Spartans took a 59-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles on Saturday. The loss put an end to the Spartans' undefeated start to the season.

Despite the loss, Friendship Christian had strong showings from Bryson Williams, who posted 24 points, and Roger Maddox, who had 20 points. The game was Maddox's third in a row with at least 16 points. Danis Rudishin was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Maximus Whitmire continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for White Creek Christian Academy, shooting 5-for-9 from long range and almost dropping a double-double with 24 points and nine boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which Whitmire has scored at least a third of the Eagles' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Colston Wood, who scored ten points.

Having lost for the first time this season, Friendship Christian fell to 2-1. As for White Creek Christian Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Friendship Christian will host Varsity Opponent at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for White Creek Christian Academy, they will face off against Lanier Christian Academy at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
