On Tuesday, the Hayden Lobos's game was all tied up 20-20 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They managed a 41-36 win over Joseph City. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Hayden.
Hayden's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Keiston Pool led the charge by dropping a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Deondre Collier, who scored 7 points along with 5 assists and 5 rebounds.
Joseph City's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jared Layden, who scored 10 points along with 3 steals. Layden hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Landon Miller, who scored 9 points.
Joseph City struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Hayden pulled down 14.
Hayden pushed their record up to 6-3 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.4 points per game. As for Joseph City, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-2.
Hayden will head out on the road to face off against Valley Lutheran at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Joseph City, they will take on Blue Ridge at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday.
