The Pinole Valley Spartans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 71-48 walloping at the hands of Seattle Prep. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Pinole Valley has scored all season.
Pinole Valley's loss came despite strong showings from Chriseanie Nealy and Jaylin Reed. Nealy scored 14 points along with five assists, while Reed scored 12 points along with six rebounds. Nealy scored a full 29.2% of Pinole Valley's points, the sixth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Romyn Waugh, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Pinole Valley has fallen quite a ways from their 28-7 record last season and are now at 5-8. As for Seattle Prep, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.
Pinole Valley and Irvington will face off at 9:00 a.m. on December 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Irvington is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. Seattle Prep and Edison will face off at 4:55 p.m. on December 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Edison has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 371 points over their last six contests.
