The match pitted two dominant backs against one another in Nuhsi Valenti and Demetrius Dowdy. Valenti had a solid game and rushed for 78 yards and one score on only 11 carries. Meanwhile, Dowdy was balling out in the loss, rushing for 183 yards and one touchdown.
Clarke Central didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Davion Richardson and Newell Paul. Paul also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with ten.
Effingham County's record is now 9-2. As for Clarke Central, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.
