If the San Diego Jewish Academy Lions were feeling good off their 54-12 takedown of the Escondido Adventist Academy Hawks last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. San Diego Jewish Academy took a 49-32 bruising from Coastal Academy on Wednesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points San Diego Jewish Academy has scored all season.
San Diego Jewish Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jack Silberstein, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and six blocks. Silberstein scored a full 50% of San Diego Jewish Academy's points, the seventh time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. David Feigenbaum was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight rebounds.
San Diego Jewish Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season. As for Coastal Academy, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-1.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Guajome Park Academy the next time they take the court. Coastal Academy will host Guajome Park Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, while San Diego Jewish Academy will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
