Page has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Northwest Guilford Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Northwest Guilford took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Page, who comes in off a win.
Page scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 84-55 win over Western Guilford. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Page had established a 25 point advantage.
Page's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Hattie Sloyan led the charge by scoring 25 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sloyan has scored all season. Lola Vanore was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 12 assists.
Meanwhile, Northwest Guilford unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 49-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Northern Guilford. Northwest Guilford has struggled against the Nighthawks recently, as their match on Friday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Page pushed their record up to 8-12 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.7 points per game. As for Northwest Guilford, their loss dropped their record down to 14-6.
Page came up short against the Vikings in their previous meeting back in January, falling 60-53. Can Page avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
