After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Tri-City Christian, the San Diego Jewish Academy Lions were happy to have found some success on Saturday. They walked away with a 52-41 victory over Guajome Park Academy. The score was all tied up 19-19 at the break, but San Diego Jewish Academy was the better team in the second half.
San Diego Jewish Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was David Feigenbaum, who scored 18 points along with four steals. Those 18 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Jacob Rissman, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds and three blocks.
San Diego Jewish Academy's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-5. As for Guajome Park Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season.
San Diego Jewish Academy will be home for the holidays to greet Rock Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Rock Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Saturday. Guajome Park Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on San Jacinto Leadership Academy at 4:00 p.m. on January 8, 2024.
