Freeman is 0-10 against Canistota since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Freeman Flyers will head out on the road to face off against the Canistota Hawks at 7:30 p.m. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Freeman has not done well against Kimball/White Lake recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Freeman snuck past Kimball/White Lake with a 59-53 win. The victory was just what Freeman needed coming off of a 64-35 defeat in their prior game.
Freeman found their leader in underclassman Tate Sorensen, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Tayden Kerrigan was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Meanwhile, Canistota had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They enjoyed a cozy 56-41 victory over Centerville on Friday.
The win got Freeman back to even at 1-1. As for Canistota, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Freeman suffered a grim 63-43 defeat to Canistota in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. Can Freeman avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
