The Marcellus Mustangs just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the Bishop Kearney Kings at 4:00 p.m. on January 15th. Marcellus is looking to tack on another W to their 12-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
In what's become a running theme this season, Marcellus gave their fans yet another huge victory on Sunday. They blew past Utica Academy of Science 64-40. Given Marcellus' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 18th, while Utica Academy of Science is ranked 512th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Will Burnett continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 20 points along with nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Tucker Burnett was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with nine assists and seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Bishop Kearney's 15-7 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 62-54 defeat to East. Bishop Kearney has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Marcellus' victory bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Bishop Kearney, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.
