Murdock extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 1-8. They came up short against the Narragansett Regional Warriors, falling 20-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-1 back in April.
Murdock saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lilyana Lee, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
As for Narragansett Regional, they pushed their record up to 7-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games.
On Narragansett Regional's side, Bailey Szoc made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). Szoc has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Narragansett Regional let Gianna Manca and Lacey Beauregard run wild. Manca got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and four RBI, while Beauregard got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI Beauregard has posted since back in April of 2025. Mya MacKay also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Looking ahead, Murdock will take on West Boylston at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Narragansett Regional, they will square off against Quabbin Regional at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
