The Paul VI Panthers will challenge the Bishop O'Connell Knights at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Paul VI's favor as the squad sits on seven straight wins at home while Bishop O'Connell has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
Paul VI barely beat The Heights the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Panthers' pitcher stepped up to hand The Heights a 12-0 shutout on Tuesday. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Landon McGinn
| 03/11/25 @ St. Stephen's & St. Agnes | 2 |
| 03/19/25 @ Bishop Ireton | 4 |
| 03/26/25 @ St. Mary's Ryken | 5 |
| 03/15/25 @ Hilton Head Island | 6 |
| 04/08/25 @ The Heights | 8 |
Not much got past Landon McGinn, who gave up just a hit and racked up eight Ks to keep The Heights off the board. Those eight strikeouts set a new season-high mark for McGinn.
On the hitting side, Landon Sirois was incredible, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Will Tighe was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
Paul VI always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as The Heights only posted an OBP of .087.
Bishop O'Connell never got on the board in their matchup on Saturday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Bishop McNamara on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 13-3 victory. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.
Mark Zonavetch looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off one hit. That hit was his first of the season.
At the plate, Bishop O'Connell got a massive performance out of Truman Leckey, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Jack Woda, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double.
Bishop O'Connell's victory bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Paul VI, their win bumped their record up to 15-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Paul VI has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Bishop O'Connell struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Paul VI's way against Bishop O'Connell in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Paul VI made off with an 8-0 victory. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Knights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
