It was a good run, but the Christian Academy of Knoxville Warriors unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Thursday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 67-66 to Grace Christian Academy. Christian Academy of Knoxville was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rams apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Despite the loss, Christian Academy of Knoxville had strong showings from Caden Owens, who almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine rebounds, and Bennett Simerlein, who scored 23 points. It was the first time this season that Owens pulled down eight or more rebounds.
Christian Academy of Knoxville's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-12. As for Grace Christian Academy, their victory was their 12th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-7.
Christian Academy of Knoxville won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Hopefully Providence Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 last Tuesday. Grace Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
