After a string of three wins, the St. John's Catholic Prep Vikings's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell just short of Notre Dame Prep by a score of 51-49. St. John's Catholic Prep lost against Notre Dame Prep in their previous head to head back in January of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 62-9 score last time.
St. John's Catholic Prep lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Nadia Ferguson, who scored 21 points. The match was Ferguson's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabella Wilson, who scored 15 points.
St. John's Catholic Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Notre Dame Prep, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. John's Catholic Prep will take on John Carroll at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Maryland (John Carroll is ranked 84th, while St. John's Catholic Prep is ranked 65th). As for Notre Dame Prep, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Bryn Mawr at 5:30 p.m.
