The Lincoln Abes will square off against the Mount Vernon Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lincoln knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Mount Vernon likes a good challenge.
On Friday, Lincoln took their matchup with ease, bagging a 48-15 win over Timberline. Given the Abes' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington football rankings (they are ranked 23rd, while the Blazers are ranked 90th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jadeon Scranton produced another solid effort rushing for 210 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 11.1 yards per carry. Thanks to that big game, he is now up to 19 rushing touchdowns on the season.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Lincoln was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 312 rushing yards. They are a perfect 5-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.
Lincoln didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Erick Tijiboy, Ramon Jones, Jay'Mari Byrd, and Elijah Carney picked up one apiece.
Meanwhile, Mount Vernon didn't have quite enough to beat Shorewood on Friday and fell 17-14.
Lincoln will have to contain Diego Salaz as he made an impact in Mount Vernon's last game. He rushed for 81 yards and a pair of TDs, and also picked up 44 receiving yards. Daryus Hill also deserves some recognition as he rushed for his first rushing yards of the season.
Lincoln has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 38.7 points over those games. As for Mount Vernon, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-3.
Friday's contest might be decided in the trenches. Lincoln has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 215.3 rushing yards per game.
