Buckeye Valley is a perfect 9-0 against Whitehall-Yearling since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Barons will challenge the Rams at 5:15 p.m. Buckeye Valley knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past ten contests -- so hopefully Whitehall-Yearling likes a good challenge.
On Tuesday, Buckeye Valley made easy work of Westerville South and carried off a 19-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Barons, who have now won 14 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Buckeye Valley got a massive performance out of Cameron Indiciani, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Lily Callis was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Buckeye Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .483. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .357 or higher in ten consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Whitehall-Yearling got the win against Wellington School on Tuesday by a conclusive 17-2. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Jaguars recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Mia Latham was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. Latham was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one triple. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aubree Waites, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2025. Julia Turley also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Buckeye Valley's record is now 14-2. As for Whitehall-Yearling, their record now sits at 7-10.
Whitehall-Yearling's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Buckeye Valley has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 15.1 hits per game. It's a different story for Whitehall-Yearling, though, as they've been averaging 9.6 hits. Given Buckeye Valley's sizable advantage in that area, the Rams will need to find a way to close that gap.
Buckeye Valley got the 'W' in their previous matchup on April 13th against Whitehall-Yearling by a conclusive 19-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Barons since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
