This week's postseason excitement didn't throw the rankings into complete disarray, but it did reorder the standings a decent amount. Among the action were the efforts of Owatonna's senior Jason Williamson, an offensive menace who scored five total TDs.
Can't Touch This
Owatonna got a 42 - 27 win over Chaska last week, and a key reason for the win was senior Jason Williamson. Williamson rushed for 310 yards and five touchdowns. In fact, our algorithms singled out Williamson as one of the top players in the power rankings for the week.
Can't Stop Won't Stop
It was another outing, another victory last week for the team with the longest stretch of success (13 consecutive games). St. Croix Central took its game against Little Chute by a confident 48 - 25 score. St. Croix Central did have the odds in its favor, but the team did even better than the MaxPreps state rankings indicated.
Next Week's Big Game
If you are itching to watch a first-rate contest, no game is supposed to fit the bill better than the one between Blaine (5th in the power rankings) and Eden Prairie (3rd). The teams have their eyes fixed on the championship after last-week playoff conquests. Blaine and Eden Prairie can't both win again this week, so we'll learn on Thursday which team falters and which extends its success.
