Christopher is a perfect 3-0 against Prospect since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Christopher Cougars duke it out with Prospect Panthers at 4:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Christopher's favor as the squad sits on eight straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Prospect has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.
Christopher is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Del Mar on Friday as Christopher made off with a 12-2 win. With that victory, the Cougars brought their scoring average up to 7.5 runs per game.
Christopher got a big performance out of Alyssa Farrow, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. That's the most runs Farrow has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Bella Loredo, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Prospect fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Saratoga on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 6-5.
Kendall Tabora spent all 7.2 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Bella Beltran made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base. That home run was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Dani Rauscher, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
The win got Christopher back to even at 2-2. As for Prospect, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Christopher has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Prospect struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Christopher took their victory against Prospect when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 16-3. Will Christopher repeat their success, or does Prospect have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
