The Jackson Academy Raiders put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Pillow Academy 69-31 at home. Fans of Jackson Academy have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
Mike Williams was his usual excellent self, scoring 15 points along with 6 assists and 4 steals. The match was his tenth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Gaitor, who scored 14 points.
Jackson Academy's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 82.3 points per game. As for Pillow Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.
Jackson Academy will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Central Hinds Academy at 8:00 p.m. Central Hinds Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings (they are ranked 222nd, while Jackson Academy is ranked seventh). As for Pillow Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Simpson Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
