After a string of five wins, the Highland Rams's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They received a tough blow as they fell 60-41 to Alta. Highland has struggled against Alta recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Highland lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being George Mcconkie, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. Mcconkie has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Drisdom, who scored eight points.
Alta got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ace Reiser out in front who scored 17 points. Another player making a difference was Carter Doleac, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds.
Highland's loss dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Alta, their win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-1.
Highland will take on East at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. East is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Alta, they will head out on the road to face off against West at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. West will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Utah Rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while Alta is ranked first).
