The Page Pirates were the 56-48 winner over the Southeast Guilford Falcons when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Page fell 57-48 to Southeast Guilford on Tuesday. Page just can't catch a break and has now endured three losses in a row.
Several Pirates players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Hattie Sloyan, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Lola Vanore, who scored 13 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Southeast Guilford's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Morgan Odom, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. Odom hasn't dropped below 15points for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was Jasmin Riggs, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Page dropped their record down to 5-12 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Southeast Guilford, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Page will take on Southwest Guilford at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Southwest Guilford presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Page in North Carolina (Southwest Guilford is ranked 123rd, while Page is ranked 353rd). As for Southeast Guilford, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Grimsley at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Autumn Clark and Odom.
