Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Moody). They blew past Priceville, posting a 60-14 win. Considering the Blue Devils have won eight contests by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Briarwood Christian better keep an eye on Jake Lowery. He was instrumental in Moody's win, throwing for 351 yards and three TDs while completing 84.2% of his passes. The dominant performance also gave Lowery a new career-high in passer rating (163.9). Kevin James was another key player, rushing for 76 yards and one score on only five carries.
Moody's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB nine times. Cam Mallory led the group effort, picking up three of those sacks all by himself. Joshua Willet is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least five every time he's taken the field this season. Baroc Willis was another major factor on D, picking up a sack, making nine total tackles (2.0 for loss), and defending one pass.
Special teams was a major factor in the game for Moody, racking up 16 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Jalijah Rutledge, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
Briarwood Christian's record now sits at 7-5. As for Moody, their record is now 10-2.
