Love and Basketball, Part II? Two seasons after former high school basketball player
Madison Prewett went looking for love on "The Bachelor," there's another roundball connection to the reality dating show.
Landon Goesling, a 25-year-old assistant basketball coach at
Coppell (Texas) is among the suitors hoping to win the heart of Katie Thurston, the latest lead on "The Bachelorette," according to spoiler sites announcing the cast.
The Coppell alum played college ball at Appalachian State, St. Edward's and the University of Houston. Goesling was known as "Sunshine" in his one playing season with the Cougars before joining Kelvin Sampson's staff for one season.
He left Houston over the summer to join the Coppell staff.
As a prep player, Goesling averaged 12.6 points over two varsity seasons for the Cowboys.
Porter's season is filming in New Mexico and the contestants are quarantining already, according to media reports. Goesling is the latest in a handful of former high school athletes to appear on the show, including Prewett, current Bachelor Matt James and Jordan Rodgers, brother of Green Bay Packers' quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
Prewett was a runner-up for Peter Weber's heart in her seasons. How will Goesling fare with Thurston, who was eliminated by James in the current season? Stay tuned.
