Not much got past Jack Henry Palazzo, who gave up just a hit and racked up nine Ks to keep Portland off the board. Palazzo has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Morgan saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trevor Powell, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI. That's the most RBI Powell has posted since back in March.
Meanwhile, Cromwell earned a 5-2 victory over Portland on Monday.
Michael Seabra looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Luke Morello, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
Cromwell hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in five consecutive matchups.
Morgan's record now sits at 8-4. As for Cromwell, their record is now 10-0.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Morgan has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.1 hits per game. However, it's not like Cromwell struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.2 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Morgan couldn't quite finish off Cromwell in their previous meeting on April 4th and fell 4-2. Can the Hukies avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
