The Horizon Huskies's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by Gilbert Christian 80-51. While losing is never fun, Horizon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 212th, while Gilbert Christian is ranked 48th).
Horizon's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Gavin Henss, who scored 12 points, and Craig Rodgers who scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Hart, who scored eight points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Gilbert Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lopemi. Omole, who scored 17 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Keon Talgo, who scored 21 points.
Horizon has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season. As for Gilbert Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.
Horizon and Maricopa will face off at 10:00 a.m. on December 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Maricopa is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. Gilbert Christian won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Verrado at 1:00 p.m. on December 16th.
