The Montgomery Academy Eagles came tearing into Tuesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They enjoyed a cozy 64-46 victory over Alabama Christian Academy. Given Montgomery Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 116th, while Alabama Christian Academy is ranked 246th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Seth Edwards continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 23 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Skyler Stovall, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Montgomery Academy's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-6. As for Alabama Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Montgomery Academy will take on Trinity Presbyterian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Alabama Christian Academy, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Saint James at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. Saint James comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
